GM Eric

Eric is a co-founder of FWD RPG and has been running and playing tabletop RPGs for over a decade and a half. He loves playing RPGs wherever he can: at home games, at store events, and at conventions are where you’re most likely to find him. He’s down to play any game you’re running as long as it’s not the dragon game and he wanted to start FWD RPG to get people engaged and excited about the wide world of tabletop roleplaying games!
He designed and wrote most of the Sagas that FWD RPG runs at conventions, and he’s coordinated 3 month long multi table campaigns in the past. He skews towards modern, crunchy, narrative games, and is the groups biggest proponent of the games that spawned from Blades in the Dark by John Harper. FitD is PbtA!
Board Council

GM Luke

Luke is a co-founder of FWD RPG and currently runs games in Collin County. He enjoys going to cons in the area and looks to expand the FWD RPG name! Luke started off playing D&D at Brickhouse Games, he would occasionally watch Critical Role and just wanted to try it out. After a few games of adventure league, he started to run games and fell in love with it , even more than playing. He has been a DM/GM/MC since 2017, but in that time he has been busy.
Luke has run 16 different games, and has another 30 he wants to GM. He also wrote and ran 2 multi-table sagas with FWD RPG. Luke is the creator of FWD: Choose Your Adventure, the One Piece Genesys Setting, several Star Wars One Shots, and Sea King: A Paragon Playset. Luke’s goal is to continue to expand the FWD RPG name and do what Eric did for him and introduce others to the wonderful world outside of D&D. Some of his favorite systems to run at this time are PbtA and Genesys, but always enjoys something new and different.

GM Brandon

Brandon, a co-founder of FWD RPG, has been running and playing RPGs for 10+ years. While he started his RPG pilgrimage with traditional crunchy games, he quickly diverted into more narrative focused and player facing systems. He spent many years running Fate, but now mostly runs PbtA with a sprinkling of Genesys or Cortex. Brandon loves going to conventions, gaming with new people, and introducing prospective players to this amazing hobby. He enjoys expanding people’s horizons past traditional RPG systems. He has helped facilitate and run FWD Choose Your Adventure and Sagas.
He designs and writes many games that can be found and play tested at local conventions. As a Latinx, he strives to bring representation to the hobby and endeavors to create a friendly, kind, and safe environment for all to come together and game.

GM Kent

Kent started playing games way back when Advanced Dungeons and Dragons captured people’s attention. He moved to other games like Star Trek: The Role-Playing Game, Marvel and DC Heroes RPG. He conquered game mastering at conventions in the nineties. Kent loves the non-standard RPG’s like Dr. Who: Adventures in Time and Space, Overlight, The Dark Eye, Polaris, and his favorite game system Torg: Eternity. Kent enjoys teaching new players to the games he presents. He works to achieve a shared role-playing experience.

GM Justin

Justin began running 3.5 DND in the early 2000s and has been playing and GMing Tabletop RPGs ever since. While he enjoys the occasional DND game, he also enjoys other tabletops like SWADE, and is willing to learn just about any game system as long as there are people interested in playing it. Justin joined FWD RPG in 2023 and is excited to be a part of such an active gaming community.

Gamemaster

GM Cody

Cody has been in the tabletop gaming space since 2008, and GMing for approximately 2 years now. Cody seeks to foster safe, inclusive, collaborative-story-telling at every table he runs. Cody likes to take the “yes and” approach to GMing, being a guide rather than an arbitrator! His favorite games are ones that leave the narrative space open for the table to create themselves. He enjoys both crunchy (think FitD and Lancer) as well as more rules-light games (think Heart and Spire), as long as the games facilitate allowing the players to be in the driver seat!

Gamemaster

GM Nathan

Nathan has been at a role-playing game table in one form or another since 2016. He started with the dungeon game that most players begin with but quickly learned to love playing outside of the dragon paradigm. He is most experienced in narrative games that promote collaborative story-telling but he is also interested in learning crunchy systems like Mythras and games in the Cthulhu-sphere. He is always open to trying new games and loves to introduce people to different gaming experiences. He strives to be inclusive to everyone and welcomes all to his table regardless of player experience. His preferred settings tend to lean toward fantasy, whether traditional or urban, and horror but he’s always ready to try something new.

Gamemaster

GM Daniel

Daniel has been running tabletop RPGs since 2015, beginning by DMing D&D for coworkers and then quickly shifting to Pathfinder. From there, he explored Dungeon World, which led him into the wider world of PbtA and other narrative-based games, and he hasn’t looked back since.
Daniel obsessively devours rule books for all flavors of tabletop RPGs, ranging from older games such as Burning Wheel and Fate Core to more modern games like Blades in the Dark. He enjoys digging into and discussing game mechanics and how they impact player interaction, immersion, and interest. At the table, Daniel enjoys bringing people together with new and different tabletop games and presenting them with difficult challenges that push players to make interesting character decisions.

GM Nathaniel

Nathaniel is full time educator, teaching at both the secondary and post-secondary levels. He teaches Game Design Aesthetics and Digital Media at TCC, and game design, multimedia, robotics, and general STEM courses for LISD.
He is also a published game designer, having worked on the Doctor Who line for Cubicle 7 as editor, writer, and layout designer (all three at once for The Time Traveller’s Companion), as a writer for Conan, and as all of the above for his own book ‘Barbarians of the Aftermath.’ He is currently working on what he calls a Tactical Card Game of Heavy Metal Mecha combat ‘Barbarians of Heavy Metal,’ and a western RPG called ‘Bone Orchard.’
He loves family, teaching, and making stuff. Occasionally, he gets to play games…
Warden

Warden X’andra

X’andra has been a longtime player of Dungeons and Dragons 5e and has slowly been working towards learning new RPGs. She enjoys RPGs that involve themes such as superheroes, cyberpunk, and zombies. Though she is mostly a online player using platforms like Roll20, she hopes to be able to experience in-person gaming through FWD RPG.

She has joined FWD as an Associate and brings her knowledge in business and marketing to FWD RPG.

GM Steve

Been into TTRPGs since 1993. Started with AD&D and Cyberpunk 2020. Loved 3e, and 5e but recently have been branching out into trying to get other systems to my table as a GM (and very rarely as a player)

I’ve organized 5e AL events and demo days in Fort Worth for fun and charity for years up until Covid started. Now I’m starting to ease my way back into it.

Happy to be here and I love the work I see FWD RPG doing to get games like Genesys, PBTA, and other fun games that have less exposure than 5e D&D.

GM Rie

“Meet Rie, a TTRPG GM who wears many hats. In the mornings, Rie is a science high school teacher, guiding their students through the wonders of biology. In the afternoons, they switch gears and become a biology student themselves, attending classes and conducting research as a biomedical research assistant.

But in between all of that, Rie has also found time to pursue their passion for tabletop roleplaying games. They’ve been playing for six years now, and it wasn’t long before they started taking on the mantle of GM. For the last five years, they’ve been leading groups of players on thrilling adventures, using their vast imagination and deep love of storytelling to create unforgettable experiences.

Rie’s GMing style is all about collaboration and roleplaying. They’re not interested in obsessing over rules or mechanics; instead, they’re more interested in helping their players create memorable characters and telling epic stories together. To them, the “”rule of cool”” is everything – if a player has an idea that seems awesome, they’re all for it, even if it means bending the rules a little.

So whether they’re in the classroom, in the lab, or around the gaming table, Rie is always pushing themselves to learn more, do more, and create more. They’re a natural born storyteller with a passion for science, and they’re excited to see where their adventures will take them next.”

GM Drew

I grew up playing all sorts of RPG’s & board games under the sun, since my family had opened up a game store in NYC. I’ve been blessed to been teaching games since 2008. I first got my feet with Ravenloft 2e DND, and from there have moved onto many different systems such as Savage Worlds, World of Darkness, Traveller 2e & World of Darkness. My preferred genres are Sci-fi, Horror & Grimdark Fantasy. My goals are for people to learn & enjoy genres outside of the typical fantasy and for everyone to have a great time.

New-ish to TTRPGs but I love learning new games!

Gamemaster

GM Nandha

Nandha has been playing games since ~2010, back in the good ol’ days of forum-based play-by-posts. Starting with 3.5e Dungeons & Dragons, Exalted 2nd Edition and Mutants & Masterminds 3rd Edition, he’s since moved onto a host of other systems (including a brief stint with That Dragon Game).

His enjoyment of TTRPGs comes from a love of storytelling, and most systems he runs will reflect that, prioritizing narrative-based systems over crunchier ones (with one big exception). He’s a firm believer that, with the advent of sites like itch.io and crowdfunding, we’re in a golden age of TTRPGs, and that there’s always fun to be had with new systems from all over.

GM Ian

Hi! I’ve been playing table top games since high-school and joined FWD as a player in the spring of 2023. I love playing one-shots and am down to try just about any system. I’ve had a lot of fun, and look forward to sharing this hobby with others!

Gamemaster

GM Joseph

GM Joseph started out with Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 and went to Pathfinder after that back in 2009. After a dry spell of tabletop gaming, his buddy GM Justin roped him into Savage Worlds and the rest is history. Since then, he’s written 3rd party adventures for SWADE and looked into many different systems. He likes story-driven games, multiple genres, and is most likely to allow the rule of cool.
